At The Image Incubator, we believe that everyone has the aptitude to develop their own sense of personal style and the ability to craft an image and personal brand they are proud to present to the world.  With a practical and sustainably-focused approach, founder and image consultant, Samantha Smith, combines her eight years of consulting experience, passion for style and art, as well as her eye for trends and taste to create a one-of-a-kind, educational, yet enjoyable, personal experience for her clients.

SAMANTHA’S story

For as long as I can remember, I loved clothes. I loved dressing up in my mother and aunties' clothes; slipping on a pair of my mother's four inch platform heels as soon as they barely fit. I sketched mock outfits in high school, dreaming of a career as a fashion designer or a buyer. As an undergrad Art History major, I studied interplay of color and design, and even went away to study art and music in Paris for five weeks, doing my best to copy the simple sophistication of your everyday Parisian woman's style. During my years as a consultant in DC, I would mentally make over my fellow commuters, imagining them in something way different than the boring suits and skirts they were sporting. Also during that time, I would makeover friends and family on the side. I would help them clean out and audit their closets, shop for work, shop for special occasions, or whatever they needed really. In addition, I provided real-life advice from everything to style, career trajectory, to relationship advice. Many I helped said, “I honestly would have paid you; you could really make this a thing.” Finally, after years of dreaming, I had the courage to leave behind one career, pack my bags, and move to the West Coast, to start another as an entrepreneur and image consultant.

QUICK FACTS ABOUT SAMANTHA

I LOVE to talk, support and mentor others, figure out what makes folks tick, and give advice (Makes sense, huh?). I also love hiking, volunteering for local causes, building puzzles, and thrifting for deals. I’m a big fan of diverse cuisines, an avid drinker of everything tea (looseleaf, lattes, milk tea, etc.), and I can’t get enough of all of this California sunshine. I’m always excited to travel to someplace new and meet new people. I’m all about seeing the glass half full and living a life of gratitude and mindfulness. Most of all, I’m excited about going through this journey together with YOU.
